Shahn Place Inc. was created in 1983, the dream of John and Patricia Wesley, as a non-profit organization for children and adults with special needs and IDD (intellectual and developmental disabilities). The name "Shahn Place" was a personification of that dream. They wanted to create a safe haven for those who society Shuns because of their disabilities.
For 38 years Shahn Place Inc. has stood proudly at 2200 E. Ledbetter Dr, true to the dream that led to its inception.
